The big games keep coming - tomorrow Foley Meir travel to Brinsford Stadium

Wolverhampton Casuals have a busy November three cup and three league games

Tomorrow, Wolverhampton Casuals welcome Foley Meir to Brinsford Stadium for a North West Counties Football League Division One South fixture, kick off 3 pm.

The clubs have already met once this season in a Macron Cup First Round tie at Foley Meir, Wolverhampton Casuals going through to the next round after winning on penalties following a 1-1 draw. Casuals Leo Wood scored first, Freddie Lloyd equalised before half-time for Foley Meir. Despite both sides having chances, neither side won in normal time.

Meir’s last six fixtures have produced a single win 3-0 against Widnes Town and a draw, against Cheadle Heath Nomads (2-2). The remaining four games have resulted in four losses, two of those saw the club exit two cup competitions. They exited the Edward Case Cup after a 4-1 loss at league leaders Sandbach United in the mid-week before being knocked out of the FA Vase losing 4-0 at home to United Counties League side Ashby Ivanhoe. The remaining two loses came in the league against Allscott (0-6) and last Saturday a 0-2 reverse to Barnton.

Foley Meir are currently mid-table having played thirteen league fixtures, winning four, drawing three and losing six and have a negative goal difference. The clubs current top scorer is Freddie Lloyd with three, followed by Tyler Mistry and Archie Ellams both with two goals each. Goal-keeper Monty Parkes is top of the ‘Man of the Match’ table after three nominations in seventeen starts.

Irrespective of recent form and results, Foley Meir are expected to provide stern difficult opposition for Wolverhampton Casuals tomorrow at Brinsford Stadium and Casuals go into the fixture on the back of a four game unbeaten run having lost to Southwell City in the first round of The FA Vase at the beginning of October.

Casuals have their usual injury and knocks worries but will have Leo Wood available who returns following missing last Saturday’s fixture, but long-term absentee Ben Podmore has restarted training and will hopefully be fit enough to feature in the coming weeks.

Tomorrow’s game is the first of three consecutive home games in eight days when the Club welcomes New Mills for a re-arranged fixture on Wednesday evening and also welcome Stafford Town next Saturday for a second round Edward Case Cup tie.

Tomorrow’s game will kick-off at 3.00 p.m.

Admission: Adults £7.00, Concessions £4.00 including under 16’s, Under 12’s free

Printed Programme: £2.00 available from the kiosk as well as the Golden Goal.

The bar will be open all afternoon and will have Sky Sports on before and after the game. Hot and Cold food, together with drinks are available in the café.

We hope to see a good crowd at tomorrow’s game to support the lads once again.
