Wolverhampton Casuals tomorrow welcome Crewe to Brinsford Stadium for the first time to play for a place in the Third Round draw of this seasons Macron Cup.
The teams met on the opening day of the league season at Crewe, their first ever game at Step 6 and in the North West Counties League, Casuals took all three points home with them after a first half brace from Kieran Cook and a screamer from Jake Pearson midway through the second half.
Since opening day Crewe have played 12 games losing eight and winning four against Barnton (3-2) Telford Town (2-1) Alsager Town (1-0), and Widnes Town (3-1). The four wins allows them to occupy 17th place on 12 points.
In the cups, Crewe were beaten in the Edward Case Cup by Market Drayton (0-3) and Coton Green in the FA Vase (0-2). On Tuesday evening beat Alsager Town in the Cheshire Cup, all the goals came in the second half from James Smith and a Joshua Maris hat trick gave them a convincing 4-2 win after they went in at half time 2-0 down.
In the first round of the Macron Cup Crewe smashed Brereton Social 6-0 at home, Joshus Maris scored another hat trick with goals from Billinge Short and De-Silva.
Crewe’s main dangerman is Joshua Maris with 8 goals in all games followed by Walker Stone, Harry Short and Zach Billinge who all have two.
The game will not be easy for either club, the weather is likely to play a big part in the game as well as both teams will want to be in the draw for the third round which will take place live on X around 6 pm tomorrow night.
Wolverhampton Casuals go into the fixture in good form following a convincing 4-0 win at third placed Stafford Town on Tuesday evening in the Staffs Senior Cup thanks to a Jack Sang hat trick and a 20 yard screamer from Callum Knowles, both Kieran Cook and Cian McIntosh are both suspended and will miss tomorrows fixture along with long term absentee Ben Podmore. Once again the strength of Casuals squad will be tested.
