Cup Action continues for Casuals in their first mid-week game since the beginning of August

Wolverhampton Casuals are back in cup action tomorrow evening as they welcome Wombourne All Stars to Brinsford Stadium in the Preliminary Round of this season’s JW Hunt Cup.

Opposition Focus: Wombourne All Stars
Tomorrow night’s visitors arrive in outstanding form in West Midlands Regional League Division Two. After an exceptional start to the season, scoring 31 goals in five league games matches while conceding just twice.

They currently sit second in the table on 15 points, four points behind league leaders Wolverhampton Sporting Community, who have played two additional games. Last Saturday, Wombourne beat Old Wulfrunians s 3–1 at Castlecroft, Lee Chilton, Zachary Holden and Josh McKenzie scoring the goals. In previous games they have beaten Birmingham Albion (4-0), Lye Town Reserves (6-0), Bewdley Town Reserves (12-0) and Bartley Reds (6-1). In the Birmingham County FA Saturday Vase Dudley Sports were overcome in a 10 goal thriller All Stars winning 6-4 to progress into the next round.

Familiar Faces in the All Stars Squad
The All Stars squad includes several former Casuals players, including Lee Chilton, Joshua McKenzie, Jack Male and Ryan Cheshire, as well as former AFC stalwart Ben Jeavons.

Chilton leads the scoring charts with nine goals in six starts, followed by Jack Malewith six in five games and Callum Martin with four in three. It is clear that Wombourne All Stars come into the game in excellent form and will be looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season against Casuals.

Casuals Looking to Build Cup Momentum
Wolverhampton Casuals come into the tie following Saturday’s 1–1 draw away at Forley Meir. They progressed into the Second Round of the Macron Cup after winning 4–3 on penalties, giving the squad another boost ahead of a busy run of fixtures in October.
Once again, the management team are dealing with player availability issues and more injuries, meaning the clubs Management Team will be once again looking at the squad trying to get a balanced side out to face Wombourne All Stars.
