Tomorrow, Wolverhampton Casuals are back on the road again travelling north this week close to Stockport to place Cheadle Heath Nomads kick off 3 pm

Cheadle Heath Nomads have a long in 2019 by a group of local First World War veterans began a fundraising project to raise £1,000 (which was a fortune at that time) to purchase a piece of land to create a sports club for the area. The club finally opened in 1921 with Cheadle Heath Nomads at its core, although the site provided facilities for cricket tennis and ladies hockey as well.

Over the years Cheadle Heath Nomads have played in various leagues and were promoted into the North-West Counties League Division One South for the 20 18/19 season having finished in fourth place in the Cheshire League Premier Division.

In the eight seasons since their promotion the Nomads have the proud record of never finishing outside the top 10 in the league. Last season they finished nineth, but the two previous seasons they missed out on the play off’s after finishing sixth.

The majority of last season squad has been retained including Manager‘s Player of the Year George Colville, Players Player of the year Matty Cleary and Top Scorer Dan Lewis.

Pre-season for the Nomads as far as results were concerns did not go too well losing four of their six games with a single draw and win which came over FC United U21’s side and the draw against Altrincham Academy side.

Last season the games between the two clubs were played close within four days Cheadle Heath winning 2-1 at home on the Saturday. The following Tuesday Casuals won 2-0 at Brinsford Stadium.

Cheadle Heath Nomads have drawn their opening two games. Allscott Heath raced into a two goal lead inside the first 20 minutes, on the season’s opening day, but goals from Dylan Wood and Chigozie Ewelike gave the Nomads a point.

It was a quick turnaround for the Nomads, o Monday evening they welcomed Widnes Town to their Ideal Buildings Systems Stadium Nomads were 2-0 up just before half time through Daniel Lewis and Ewelike who scored his second of the season. The second half saw a turnaround from the visitors who scored two goals to force a second 2-2 draw.

Wolverhampton Casuals go into tomorrow’s game with two wins a 3-0 win at Crewe last Saturday followed by a 2-0 win in mid-week over Shropshire neighbours Market Drayton Town at Brinsford Stadium.
The Management Team do have some selection issues with players carrying knocks and availability issues, so there could be changes not only in the starting XI but the matchday squad.

The coach will leave Brinsford Stadium at 11 am tomorrow morning, cost is £10.
