Wolverhampton Casuals tomorrow evening start their home North West County Football League season with the visit of Shropshire based Market Drayton Town kick off 7:45 pm.

Both clubs played their opening league fixture on Saturday, Cassies travelling to newly promoted Crewe and securing a good 3-0 win whereas Market Drayton Town lost 2-0 at home to newly promoted Brereton Social, the visitors tomorrow night are bound to be looking to get their first points of the season at Brinsford Stadium.

It’s been all changed since the end of last season at Market Drayton Town after Manager Dan Dawson and Chairman Matthew Allen both stepped down towards the end of last season. The club is not only appointed a new management team but also has a new chairman in Simon Line a Sporting Director ex professional Andy Cooke as well as new Committee Members and Vice Chairman.

One of Simon Line‘s first jobs was to appoint a new Management Team, and he chose Dave Lloyd as Manager assisted by ex Wolves man Adam Proudlock and coaches Jack Hurdley, Blake Fletcher and Josh Delves. The appointment of the new Management Team has seen a complete overhaul of the Gingerbread men’s squad with only four players being retained from last season‘s squad that finished in 17th place in the North West County Football League Division One South.

Since the Gingerbread Men’s y relegation from the Midland Football League Premier Division at the end of the 2022/23 season, the club has played in Division South of the NWCFL, they finished bottom in their first season followed by a ninth place finish in the second season and last season produced a 17th placed finish.

Both the clubs new Committee and Management Team will want an improvement on last Season‘s return and are bound to offer Wolverhampton Casuals new squad a really stern test tomorrow evening.

Wolverhampton Casuals going into tomorrow evening fixture are carrying several key injuries from Saturday’s win at Crewe, which may require several players to have a pre-game fitness test, But Charlie Swingwood returns from suspension after missing the first game of the season.

Kick off tomorrow evening at Brinsford Stadium is 7:45 pm
