Stan turns out to see Cassies cruise through JW Hunt Cup tie

Being MD at Wolverhampton Casuals Football Club also allows me to sometimes combine that role with the day job.

Therefore, it was a pleasure for Cassies to be granted the opportunity to become 2026-2027 sponsor for Walsall Football Club Limited's Academy Graduate, Stan Straw, in his first year as a full professional.

I've known Stan for a while, as he was a school friend of my son, as well as being a very good friend of our first team player, Harry McNevin, and so Stan has been a fairly regular visitor to Brinsford Lane over the past year or so, and is still a regular at Brinsford Lane whenever his own playing commitments allow.

Stan appeared in last week's EFL Trophy game at Bescot against League One Stevenage, and has now gone a one month loan to Redditch United in the Southern League Premier Central.

All at Cassies wish Stan all the best in his loan at Redditch and hope to see Stan back in action at Bescot in the not too distant future. Stan is a truly pleasant and mature young man and we are sure he has the makings of a fine professional.

As well as this sponsorship, Cassies have hosted the Walsall Football Club Limited Academy Under 17 team in their development cup tie against Sheffield United last month; a 1-1 draw was highly entertaining and seeing bright future football league talent at Brinsford is a joy. Hopefully, further games will be announced shortly.

In other news, September proved very successful for our first team, 4 wins and a draw (3 cup wins in there) in the unbeaten month, and it would have been a clean sweep but for two late Bilston goals in the 3-3 home draw early in the month. The FA VASE qualifying round victory at home to Studley saw us run out 3-1 winners, qualifying for the first round proper (at home v Southwell on 10th October) in front of over 200 supporters.

Sponsor and Partner opportunities are available and as we gain traction on socials (6,000+ followers) as well as increased attendances, there is no better time to start partnering the club. Contact us at wolvescasuals@outlook.com for more details.
