Following the disappointment of the late cancellation of Saturday’s game against Lye Town, tomorrow evening We are delighted to welcome Sporting Khalsa to Brinsford Stadium, who in pre-season have been in great form.

Sporting Khalsa were last season relegated from The Northern Premier League West Division after being laterally moved out of the Midlands Division by the FA. This coming season they have returned to The Midland Football League Premier Division and are sure to be looking to return to The NPL at the first opportunity.

Manager Ian Rowe and his Management Team have lost some key players from last seasons squad, they have managed to retain Kieron Whittaker, , Isai Marseila, Peter Taylor, Daniel Broni-Phillips, as well as keepers Brandon Ganley, Jack Blood.

The have been joined by some big signings such as Harvey Smith, Macauley Taylor, Ryan Shaw, Kyle Burke, Kai Cunningham, Che Ranger, Abu Kaunu, Jamie Fox.

Sporting Khalsa are well into their pre-season campaign in readiness for the new season, they have already played five games, the majority against higher league opposition.

Their campaign started with a 3-0 win over Punjab United to lift the South Asian Shield. Next up was a midweek trip to NPL Step 4 side Shifnal Town, Khalsa won 1-0. The next three fixtures were all against Step 3 Southern League opposition, starting with a trip to Stourbridge, Khalsa losing 2-1 to a late winner. Bromsgrove Sporting travelled to the Guardian Warehousing Area and won 4-2 despite the home side being 2-0 up.

Last Saturday Sporting Khalsa entertain Rushall Olympic and won 2-1 with a late winner.

Games between the two managers are always nip and tuck, so tomorrow evening promises a great opportunity to watch two good sides go head to head.
