Casuals are on the road again tomorrow, to Telford to play newly promoted Dawley Town

After the clubs first loss of the season in midweek, Wolverhampton Casuals Management Team & players will want to get back to winning ways ASAP

Wolverhampton Casuals for the third consecutive Saturday are on the road once again, this time it is a more local trip to Telford to play Dawley Town.

Dawley Town were promoted into The North West Counties Football League Division One South this season after winning The TJ Vickers Football League Premier Division last season. Originally the club started life as Telford Juniors playing in The West Midlands Regional League, but changed name during COVID when they re-joined the non-league football ladder in the TJ Vickers Football League as Dawley Town. Since the name change the club has been successful winning the Premier League 2022/23, as well as finishing second, third, fourth and fifth over the seasons and last seasons championship winning season the club secured promotion.

The club has always played at the now named Theatre of Jockeys Ground in Dawley which has been substantially improved over recent years and now requires the installation of floodlights before the end of September to comply with FA Regulations.

So far this season Dawley have played two league fixtures and one cup fixture and are currently occupying 17th place in the division. There season started with a trip to Alsager Town drawing 2-2. The following mid-week fixture saw a 3-2 loss at Wednesfield Community and last Saturday their first home fixture of the season saw a 3-2 loss against Brereton Social in The Edward Case Cup Preliminary Round South.

The club have the prolific Ross Jones in their squad, Ross has scored many goals for Dawley Town and Telford Juniors, He has started this season ijn fine form scoring four of the clubs six goals this season. So clearly he could play a major part in tomorrow’s fixture.

There is no head-to-head or previous results against Dawley Town for Wolverhampton Casuals who go into the fixture having lost their first game of the season and conceded their first goals against Eccleshall on Wednesday evening. However, the results thanks to four league fixtures played means that Wolverhampton Casuals still are joint top of the NWCFL Division One South joint with Eccleshall, Stafford Town and New Mills on 9 points., all clubs have played four games

Manager Dean Gill and his squad will be looking forward to having next mid-week off and tomorrow’s game puts an end to a run of five games in fifteen days.

Tomorrow’s game is played at:

The Theatre of Jockeys
Doseley Road
TELFORD
TF4 3AL

Admission – Adults £4.00, Concessions £2.00.

Programmes £2.00 each

Please note: There is NO car parking at Dawley Town’s ground. There is a car park available for spectators to park in free of charge, the car park postcode is TF4 2ET with access being via Quarry Place, the road alongside the ground, and we have been informed that it is 3 minutes’ walk to the ground.

We hope many Wolverhampton Casual’s supporters will continue to support Dean Gill and his squad and look forward to seeing you at Dawley tomorrow afternoon.
