Wolverhampton Casuals are delighted to announce the resigning of experienced centre-half Ben Podmore from Gornal Athletic.

Ben has been a long-time member of Dean Gill’s squads, for around seven seasons, he first signed for Dean in his first spell at Wolverhampton Casuals, he followed Dean to Bilston Town, and Darlaston Town where he played a key part in the clubs development and promotion from Step 6 to Step 4, before leaving last summer to play at Gornal Athletic.

Poddy is a larger than life character and an important member within the squad. A no-nonsense central defender who commands in the air all over the pitch and provides an attacking presence at set pieces.

Manager Dean Gill was delighted to secure Ben’s signature, and the club would like to thank Gornal Athletic for their help in such a smooth transfer.

On signing Ben, Manager Dean Gill said “When Ben left Darlaston 12 months ago he was, in my opinion, the best at what he did anywhere in non-league. He has three promotions with me under his belt already, so we both know exactly what we want and what to expect from each other.

A fit and focused Poddy will be a major asset to us.
